Developing, launching, and strategically building businesses is the common thread tying together Tom’s 20+ years of professional work.

As an attorney, business advisor, and social entrepreneur, Tom’s experiences range from founding a boutique law firm, growing the practice to have offices in New York and New Jersey, to launching a company in partnership with a former professional athlete to develop and manage youth football academies, with a focus on leadership development and launch an apparel and branding division to complement the academies.

Tom has worked with entrepreneurs and Fortune 100 companies handling litigation, commercial transactions, and land use matters.  He has had the opportunity to provide counsel in the buy-side and sell-side of transactions; design risk management strategies; manage personnel; create business processes; and define corporate structure. Importantly, these experiences, including the challenges Tom faced as operations leader for the distribution business – from cash flow constraints to an accounting investigation – reinforced a lesson Tom learned right after college when he taught high school: education is dynamic, progressive, and continuous.

Harnessing these broad experiences and seeing the shifting educational and business landscape, Tom launched The Study USA in 2017. The Study USA, established through a public-private partnership with the City of Irving, is an innovation, entrepreneur, and business resource center (www.thestudyusa.com).

Tom received his Juris Doctor from the Villanova University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University. He is a member of the State Bars of New York, New Jersey, & Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Courts for New Jersey and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Tom sits on the Board of Directors for The Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and The Wilkinson Center.

Tom truly enjoys coaching his children’s teams and running.  In fact, if you are meeting with Tom on a day he missed a run, you may want to reschedule the meeting.
